Another Year Touring with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company!

Angelique has decided to stay with the touring company of CSC for another year!

She has enjoyed the past year with the company so much that she has decided to stay on for another year, as both an actor in the touring company and as the tour manager. She looks forward to continuing to perform in the touring productions of Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream in parks and schools throughout the year. She also looks forward to hopefully being a part of CSC's grand reopening in the Fall and to the moment when audiences can come back into the Otto M. Budig theatre!

A Touring Production of Julius Caesar

In March of 2021, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company decided to add another show to the tour Julius Caesar! Angelique was cast as Portia, Octavius Caesar, and Decius Brutus. Through this rehearsal process, Angelique explored her range as an actor and dived into the physicality of each character to make these three roles unique and specific. Angelique was also given the opportunity to begin exploring her interest in intimacy direction as Crystian Wiltshire, the director of Julius Caesar, allowed her to choreograph the moments of intimacy between the two couples in the play (Portia and Brutus and Calpurnia and Julius Caesar).

While the rehearsals for the show took place in March, Julius Caesar did not open until May, when the weather was warm enough for the tour to perform outside again. The run for this show was short-lived as the contract for the 2020-2021 Touring Company ended on May 23rd. Despite it being a very short run, Angelique enjoyed the entire process and will miss this show very much.

8 Residencies in 4 Months!

January 2021- April 2021

Over the past four months, Angelique has taught residencies at eight different schools in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Due to the pandemic, seven of these residencies were virtual, but this pivot has taught her how to engage students in theatre in a multitude of ways.

Through these residences, she has worked with students grades K-12. With her younger students, she used games like WOOSH! and songs that connect to certain characters to have the students identify and understand the story of Romeo and Juliet. With her older students she has helped them create set and costume designs for King John, write sonnets, and even analyze gender and performance through Shakespeare's text.

Some of her favorite projects include the 30-minute version of Richard III she directed with the wonderful students of Covedale Elementary (see picture to the left) and working with the design students of Gallatin County High School to design their own productions of King John.

Completed Level 2 Certification in Intimacy Direction with IDC!

Angelique was first introduced to intimacy direction in 2019 when Gaby Labotka and Tom Ringberg taught intimacy direction workshops at the Great River Shakespeare Festival. But she did not begin her journey towards being certified until the pandemic. Over the past five months, she has taken Level 1 and Level 2 certification courses with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, as well as over 15 hours of courses in intimacy direction with Theatrical Intimacy Education. Angelique has fallen in love with intimacy direction and aspires to bring this consent-based practice to every room that she is in.

Actor and Tour Manager in Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's 2020-2021 Tour Co.

In March of 2020 Angelique accepted a position to be a part of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's 6 person Tour Co! The tour would perform three different Shakespeare shows (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet) in parks and schools for an entire year, while also doing workshops in local schools and being a part of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Mainstage Season. She was cast as Oberon/Egeus/Snug the Joiner in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth in Macbeth, and Friar Lawrence/Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet.

Then Covid-19 hit.

Luckily she is still working as an actor and tour manager for CSC's 2020-2021 Tour Company. However, things look a little bit different. The tour still performs three shows in parks and in other socially distant locations, but CSC's Mainstage Productions are not happening this season. So the tour is now a part of creating online and radio productions for the company as well as being teaching artists in different residency programs (both virtual and in-person) throughout the tri-state area so they can still provide free/affordable theatre and theatre education to communities that need it.

Graduation from Hamilton College

Angelique graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College on May 24th, 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Economics.

A zoom graduation was definitely not how she expected to graduate from college, but she was so happy to be surrounded by her family and still be able to celebrate this accomplishment.

Acting Apprentice at the Great River Shakespeare Festival

May 2019 to August 2019

From May 2019 to August 2019 Angelique will be in Winona, Minnesota working as an Acting Apprentice with the Great River Shakespeare Festival.

There she will be the understudy for the roles of Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and Pisanio in Cymbeline as well as play the Princess of France in the Apprentice/Intern Production of Love Labour's Lost!

She is so excited to learn from all of the wonderful artists around me.
