This summer, Angelique had the opportunity to take two very different Acting workshops: Module 1 of the certification program at the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium and the Clown Core Program taught by the wonderful Michelle Matlock at Dell’Arte International. She chose these workshops intentionally as she wants to grow as a physical actor while preparing for her role as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company in the fall.
She learned so much during these workshops and is so excited to put these new skills into practice this year. From the joys of making people laugh to the precise psychological gestures created by Michael Chekov to simply the importance of being comfortable doing nothing onstage but being open and vulnerable, this summer has given her many new tools to use as she continues to learn and grow as an artist. But more than that, through these programs, she met many talented and kind people in the industry and outside of it. She is so grateful for the dinners they shared, the conversations they had, and the advice and wisdom she received. She made lifelong friends in these programs, and this summer is one she will never forget.
