Playing The Narrator in Utah Shakespeare Festival's Touring Production of Every Brilliant Thing!1/1/2024 December 18th, 2023 to March 23rd, 2024Angelique is thrilled to announce that she will be going on tour as one of the two Narrators in the Utah Shakespeare Festival's touring production of Every Brilliant Thing! The show tours Utah and the West Coast from January through the end of March! There are very few instances in life where you can make an immediate impact on the future generation. This tour of Every Brilliant Thing is one of those instances. This show and the conversations it will create will save lives. This show reminds students that they are not alone and provides them with resources to talk about their mental health struggles and get the help they need. Angelique became an artist because of the change theatre can make that will continue long after the play has ended. This show is a perfect example of the power and importance of this art form. It is a privilege to be a part of this tour and to bring this message to communities all over Utah. Pucking Around In Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Production of A Midsummer Night's Dream!11/19/2023 November 10th to December 2nd
September 2023
April 7th to April 29th, 2023Eighteen months ago, the talented Cary Davenport was tasked to write a musical version of As You Like It! Now, 18 months later, Angelique is thrilled to be playing Celia in the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's 1990s Brit-pop musical version of As You Like It which features 31 Original Songs!
With songs like "Seven Ages of Man," "Blow Thou Winter Wind," and "Rosalind and Celia Flee," this Shakespearean romantic comedy will have audiences singing the score for weeks after they see this show! This show has made Angelique step out of her comfort zone in more ways than one. She is so grateful for another opportunity to, as her friend Courtney Lucien (who plays Rosalind in the show) would say, "chase challenges" and for the brave space CSC provides her to continue to grow as an artist.
March 3rd to March 25th, 2023
November 11th to December 3rd, 2022This holiday season, Angelique was able to play onstage again with her Cincinnati Shakespeare Company family as Beth in Little Women.
Beth is so similar to her in so many different ways. The more she discovered about Beth, the more she realized what kindred spirits they really were. And what a wonderful (and incredibly difficult) experience that really was. Those lines between character and actor blurring--especially in a version of this show that deals so heavily with grief and familial loss--were hard to shake off at the end of every night. But she believes this experience was necessary, and so important to grow as a person and as an artist. She is forever grateful for this experience
Thank you. And to Beth. She has learned so much from you. The conscious of the family. But the thing that she will never forget is the line: “You get the privilege of growing up, so use it.” Which she was able to say every single night. Life is a privilege; it is not a guarantee. And every day that we are alive is a blessing. It is a gift. So how are you going to use it? A Part of the Rolling-World Premiere of "it's not a trip it's a journey" by Charly Evon Simpson10/3/2022 August 30th to October 9th, 2022This is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of show. It's a show that centers Black Femmes and our experiences. It is a show that Angelique will never forget. It is also a show that allowed Angelique to play a Black Woman onstage, a character originally written to be Black: something that she has never done before. Frankie is both so similar to me and so wildly different. She is complex, funny, insecure, a little mean, and contains multitudes. And it is not often that Black characters are like that, that they are allowed to be that. To be difficult and emotional, to deal with mental health, friend, and love issues. To laugh and cry and everything in between.
And then to be surrounded by these hilarious and talented Black women. Angelique has absolutely loved being in the room, working and laughing with Ariel, Jasimine, and A.J every day. This is a show that you don’t want to miss! |
